Answer: (a) 1, 3 and 4

Chakyar koothu is a male solo temple art by the Chakyar community, accompanied by the mizhavu drum and presented in the temple theatre called Koothambalam. Nothing supports the claim that higher-caste Hindus could not watch it.

  • ✓ 1. Chakyarkoothu is performed by male Chakyars of the Kutiyattam performer community.
  • ✗ 2. Traditionally it was presented in temples for the community; no source says higher castes were barred.
  • ✓ 3. The mizhavu is the drum that accompanies it.
  • ✓ 4. It is presented in the temple theatre space called Koothambalam.

Remember · Chakyarkoothu: Chakyar men, mizhavu drum, Koothambalam temple theatre; Nangiarkoothu is the women's version.
