Which one of the following pairs of states and tribes is not correctly matched?

Answer & explanation

Answer: (d) Madhya Pradesh: Lambada

The Lambadi (Lambada, Banjara) are associated with Andhra Pradesh, not Madhya Pradesh. The Miri of Assam, the Konyak of Nagaland and the Apatani of Arunachal Pradesh are correctly paired.

  • ✓ (d) This is the mismatched pair: Lambadi is identified with Andhra Pradesh (and Telangana).
  • ✗ (a) Miri (Mising) is a tribe of Assam.
  • ✗ (b) Konyak is a major Naga tribe of Nagaland.
  • ✗ (c) Apatani is a tribe of Arunachal Pradesh (Ziro valley).

Remember · Lambadi/Banjara: Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Apatani: Arunachal. Konyak: Nagaland. Miri: Assam.
