Answer & explanation

Answer: (d) Karma

Purva Mimamsa rests on the ritual portion of the Vedas (karmakanda), so it holds that correctly performed Vedic duties and rites lead to the highest good. Jnana belongs to Vedanta.

  • ✓ (d) Jaimini's Mimamsa stresses the karmakanda of the Vedas, i.e. ritual action.
  • ✗ (a) Knowledge (jnana) is the Vedantic route, based on the Upanishads.
  • ✗ (b) Bhakti is a devotional path, not the Mimamsa teaching.
  • ✗ (c) Yoga is the separate Patanjali school.

Remember · Purva Mimamsa (Jaimini) = karmakanda, ritual action; Uttara Mimamsa/Vedanta = jnanakanda, knowledge.
