Answer & explanation

Answer: (c) 1, 2, and 4

Lothal had a dockyard, Sarnath saw the Buddha's first sermon and Nalanda was a great centre of Buddhist learning. The Lion Capital of Ashoka comes from Sarnath, not Rajgir.

  • ✓ 1. The Harappan port town of Lothal had a huge dockyard.
  • ✓ 2. The Buddha gave his first sermon at Sarnath.
  • ✗ 3. The Lion Capital was found at Sarnath.
  • ✓ 4. Nalanda was a leading Buddhist centre of learning.

Remember · Lion Capital = Sarnath; Lothal = dockyard; Nalanda = Buddhist learning.
